Whilst ‘Wreck It Ralph’ may not be Disney’s biggest ever hit it was still extremely successful. It was popular with children because of the unique and fun characters, whilst it was also popular with grown-ups and parents because of the various video game and retro references.
Wreck It Ralph now has a massive following, with fans eagerly awaiting the strongly hinted-at sequel. In this post I’m going to help loyal fans of Wreck It Ralph dress up as their favorite character this Halloween or for your upcoming fancy dress party.
Obviously, the most popular character to dress up as from the movie is Wreck It Ralph, the main protagonist of the movie. Ralph is know for his big, goofy appearance and his messy clothes. A plus point of a Wreck It Ralph costume is instantly recognizable by everyone, even those who haven’t seen the movie!
Ralph’s outfit is fairly easy to recreate and shouldn’t cost too much either. The main part of Wreck It Ralph’s costume are his brown overalls, unclipped over one shoulder to match his clumsy personality. These overalls will usually cost less than $20 whether they are ordered online or bought from your local hardware store. Kids sizes are usually easy to find as part of fancy dress kits or in the toy tools section in the toy store.
Ideally you will also put an orange t-shirt or checked shirt underneath these overalls to make them look perfect.
Disney has also produced some official merchandise to help you dress up as Wreck It Ralph! For instance if you’re lucky you may be able to find some ‘Wrecking Fists’ in your nearest Disney Store or online. These oversized fists are made from soft foam and produce sound effects when they bounce off surfaces. These can be found at WreckItRalphCostumes.net for around $30 at the time of writing.
To fully complete your Wreck It Ralph costume you might want to consider buying some hair gel to spike your hair up and make it all messy just like Ralph’s. You can also wear sandals (or just go barefoot if you’re indoors) so that you look exactly like your idol!
